Lucky Cuss Pillar of the Community United States 4883 Posts	Posted 06/20/2016 8:39 pm Neither in any way rare nor valuable, plucked from a bag of culls today, but perhaps presenting an interesting grading exercise. Only the slightest hint of original luster remains, with the high points seeming pretty intact, but displaying some marks and lack of relief in places that might be expected to be better. Lucky Cuss Pillar of the Community United States 4883 Posts	Posted 06/21/2016 5:05 pm There are some things that suggest a late die state or a mediocre strike versus simply wear. The dots around the edge of the obverse, despite being sheltered by the rim, are very weak in places, paerticularly at the top. The inside lower leg of the lion is also indistinct despite being in a realtivelt well protected area. The peripheral dots on the reverse look flatted in spots, which may well be due to damage, but it's an odd bit od such if that's the case.
