I came across this 75 D, it has an area south of the MM that looks suspicious...maybe hint of an RPM. Pictures below with different lighting and views:

Looks like a contact mark to me.

Dustin6 nailed it. Coin contact on the mint mark upper serif. Note how it reduces the size of the mint mark in that area. (also the damaged area is made incuse) From the coin contact.

You are correct, on the mm there is contact creating incuse (depression) but below the mm that area is relief (raised).
For my images and all posts are via iPhone 6 with an oloclip 21x macro lens. "It's an all in one process "
