Posted this last night in Toned coin thread. Didn't even no it was a MAD until someone pointed it out. I though it was rim wear...DOH!

Does this add value? Is there a reference site for these kinds of errors?

I think the only time it adds value to your coin is when part of the lettering is influenced by the mad.

Also when there is weakness as Coop pointed out in a previous thread. I'm not sure about yours though.

You are correct it is a MAD coin. But it is not offset enough to be a collectable. On the ones where the devices fall over the edge, those are the ones to save. Another help to see it if it collectable, is that the opposite should show weakness opposite the side with the widest rim. Something like this:

Note how the hammer die is offset thus breaking that die to be out of alignment and the anvil die to be normal? Also note the weakened area because of the miss alignment of the strike.
