Does anyone have any pictures that they would care to share with regards to the suspect 1910 VDB Lincoln Cent? It has been mentioned here within this forum. Perhaps we can shed some light on this topic. Any and all feedback is most certainly welcome.

My understanding is that there are a some claimed to be known and discussed in some of the published Lincoln Cent books.

Coppercoins says that the die does not match the known 1909 VDB reverses and as such, I personally believe that he is probably correct. He states that he has done overlays which show that the known or claimed specimens do not match the 1909 rev. If this is the case then well done C.C.

So, what share you?

1)Do they exist?

2)If so, how can that happen?

3)Got any pics. or overlays?

4)If it does exist is it an unproven 1910 effaced rev. die?

Comments?

Thanx.....gusp

David Lange's "The Complete Guide To Lincoln Cents"
notes that on 1910 Philadelphia cents, "Vestigal traces of the
letters V.D.B. may yet turn up from leftover 1909 V.D.B.
reverse dies which were only partly effaced." As for the 1910-S
cents, Lange notes, "Specimens have been reported having
vestigal traces of the letters V.D.B. It's not clear whether these
letters remained on the working die or the working hub, but the
former is more likely."

So at the time of his writing, 1910 S cents with traces of the VDB had been found. he postulated that 1910 Philly cents with the VDB may turn up. I am not sure if any have.
