Yes , you have things going on with this Lincoln but it's more hits and environmental damage then anything else . DO NOT send it in to TPG , no value here . It's also pretty well worn . I'll give you the minor mint errors .

T-Bop, This coin shouldn't be worn since it came out of an Original Bank roll. Like I said before though, it looks like it has oil or grease on it as well as some hits from other coins but this coin is Uncirculated. I guess the pics make it look worse.

I think TBOP doesn't know is that the dies from the 50s and 60s are EXTREMELY bad, and they didnt get "sharp" again until 1969. The master die was last re engraved in 1916, and it just kept getting more worn each year until they finally re did the die in 1969. Heres a graphic I made:

First coin low end MS, but certainly not slab-worthy.
Child (Ben) - Thanks for the comparisons.

thx mdrosophila and thanks ChildoftheWheat...... no wonder I noticed that these 50's looked like a weak strike....add some grease or other stuff and you get some of these coins. Is that why the VDB on the shoulder on some of these is virtually non existent?

Are you guys kidding me ! Why are you calling this Mint State , because it has full wheat ears ? I'm looking at the entire coin in general . If this was found in a OBW roll then quite a few pieces should have looked like this one . sorry ,but this is my honest opinion .

Quote: Heres a graphic I made: The graphic is incorrectly labeled. What you are showing is actually the state of the obverse master hub. In 1916 there was a brand new master obverse hub which was used until 1968. A new master hub was introduced in 1969.

thanks BadThad....and T-Bop, I do have other similar looking coins from this same Original Bank roll.....ps....another pic of coin although in coin-flip. Die Chip looks like a Raisin on Lincoln's Forehead.

I come across a lot of rolls of BU 1958 Lincoln's, many of them look like the coin you posted.
I agree your looks to be in the MS 63 range.
When looking through a lot of BU roll Lincolns you will find a lot of minor errors .. like die chips.
These really bring no extra value, but some collectors like putting them in 2X2's and adding them to their collections.

I agree, this coin is low-grade mint state. I would go MS-62 RD.
The master hub was redone in 1915, I do believe, rather than 1916.
