My coin club has given me a project to complete. I am going to be sorting all of the donations that the club has received for its YN program. These donations include everything from US coins, world coins, paper money, books, folders, used albums, and supplies. My job is to sort everything into categories of similar things and group some items together based on value. I am picking up the donations tomorrow and I thought that I would share some of the fun with CCF! I will update this thread with any cool stuff I find.

Stay tuned...

This is what I brought home...

There is a little of everything in this hoard. Tons of wheat cents, a whole bin full of world coins, silver, slabs, rolled coins, proof sets, mint sets, currency, and even some stamps.

Oh my lord, that together looks like a whole collection. Good luck sorting that!! I wonder how long it is going to take to get through that. Do you get something for sorting it like some sort of YN points or something?

That actually looks like a huge collection! Good luck with that. What are you and the YN club going to do with the coins when they're sorted?

I'm guessing there will be a YN scavenger hunt or something, and throughout the hunt, you get coins for answering questions, and if you complete the hunt, you get a larger prize. At least that's what happened with me.

It would be interesting to know what others donate.

That is quite the donation collection you have. That would be fun to go through and give to YN!

Did they give you that X Box One controller, too?

Sounds like a fun time! Good luck searching through all of those... Be sure to look for varieties on the LWC!

EDIT... 5,500th post

No, the Xbox belongs to my brother. He was just in the way when I took the picture.

I have sorted most of the stuff into categories. US, world, Canadian, Wold paper money, wheat cents, IHCs, Buffalo nickels, precious metals, etc. I will take some more pics after my camera is done recharging.

There are a bunch of tubes that look like this. They are sealed tight and I can't get them open. Anyone know how to open them up?

Very nice!

If I were patient I would probably put them in the refrigerator. But we all know I am going after those with vise-grips and pliers.
