I got a group of these at an auction several months ago, and haven't had any luck digging up further information about them.

Each one is abt. 17.5mm and 0.6-0.85gm. They have a faint cross countermark on the center of the obverse. I have only upload one set of images.

Can someone provide more information about them?

Thanks,
John

Any chance you also picked up a Holy Hand Grenade in the lot?

Wonderful! Thanks!

Is there a catalog reference somewhere for these Crusader issues?

There's a good reference online at: http://www.numismatas.com/Forum/Pdf...rusaders.pdf

I think your coin is on page 54 or 55.

I've always liked this type for the fact that the soldier looks more like a duck than a human in chain mail armor.
