Exactly like the title says. How long did it take you to establish a good set up with your banks. Being able to pickup and dump. I have currently two banks that have coin counters where I'm going to use as my dumps. And another that I am about to open at that has one. I finally got a bank to do an ongoing order of 2000 halves a week. And I have another that orders me a 1000. I am trying to find one more. I had another bank locally where I live that I asked to order me 4000 every two weeks. They said it would not be a problem but now they called and said the bank manager will let me order these but not anymore. I am really having a hard time. On my way! Antony to do bout $6000 a week in halves. Maybe I'll have some more luck tomorrow

I try & use the same teller at each of the locations that I frequent. I think it helps...I think.

Start with a smaller order and work your way up as you build a relationship with the folks at your banks. Remember, you ordering and depositing coins costs the bank money: tellers calling the coin courier to place your order, courier delivering your order to the bank and charging the bank for the service, tellers changing coin counter machine bags when you fill-up the bags multiple times over the course of depositing several thousand $$$ in halves, courier picking up the full coin bags and charging the bank for the service.

You want to get in good with any of them. Then ask them if they have any junk (coins that they don't like to count such as eisenhowers, gold dollars, susan B's, and $2 bills. Ask for them every time you go into the bank and I guarantee that they will remember and look for you. Thats what I do and they always save me stuff and many times it is silver.

When I decided to hit the dimes exclusively, I had a setup in which four banks would hold their customer-rolled for me. I was able to pickup right around $1k-$2k worth of dimes per week. I arranged this almost immediately after setting up a new account. I dumped at a credit union that would take my loose coin in $500 Coin-lok bags in which they supplied. The bags went right to the vault and I received cash on the spot. I rarely ever counted individual coin, just replaced the silver ones that I pulled. Besides, the bags are weighed, not counted, when received by the courier, and are allowed a certain percent over or under by weight.

I've got two banks I pick up at, and two that I use to dump at... took me about three months to get it all down. I have a good relationship with all three branches of my one bank (2 pick up, 1 dump)... I wanted to use my old bank (B of A) as a dumping bank, but they try to ship your coins out and then credit your account back in approximately a week... sorry, that doesn't work!

Not sure if this would be the right thread or not but I have a good system set up for coin pickups and dumps, recently I opened a new account at another bank so I could use them exclusively for rolled up coin to dump, there are about 10 branches within 10 mins from my house, but today I stopped at my favorite pickup bank and I have been going here off and on over the past few months, they only supply me with customer rolled coin that they are in excess of so I never know what I will get when I go in, but I take anything they offer. So today I walked in and the same teller that has waited on me in the past says we got dimes and nickels but she doesn't have enough to spare, then she asked what I do with all my unwanted coins and I said I take to a different bank she said well if you mark your rolls and we can do box swaps for new stuff that comes in. So I said I had 2 boxes of dimes and a box of nickels in the car that I'm going to dump at another bank so she said bring them in and we can swap now. I said ok, so I came back in with the boxes and we swapped. She dumped all the coins out on the counter and marked them for me and said we will use these for other customers or ship them out and any unmarked ones we will put aside for you. She said I won't bag any rolls unless they are marked. I happened to have an empty dime box and nickel box in my car and I also took them in and she marked it with my name on it for new customer rolls that come in and she said when you come next week or two we can make another box swap. She also said if I get more coin than they have to trade she will take it and either use it for her other customers or ship it out. She was all for this and was excited to hear about my finds, so I showed her a few pictures I had on my phone of a few that I have found over the past few months and she was like that is way cool, and I asked her was she sure she wanted to go to all this trouble and she said it's no big deal cause she gets paid to handle money and get paid by the hour! So I think she deserves a box of cookies or something special for going above and beyond her job duties.

Coin Rumbles, I have a similar set up with one of my pick up banks. The head teller started ordering me halves about 1 year 9 months ago. I went through several dump banks in the first few months and she found out I was having problems getting rid of the coins I didn't want and offered to take my dumps too. She orders me $2000. a week in halves and takes around $3000. in dumps. Great little gal! That reminds me I need to take them something again, last time I took all the tellers milkshakes for an afternoon refreshment.

Impossible to do this in Australia. They will not cooperate with CRH'ers. As far as bank profits are concerned, they only see CRH'ers as a dead loss; no profit for the bank to provide this kind of service.

Coin rumbles that is an awesome set up. I have finally got two banks to order me coins and I dump at another bank hat has a really good coin counter. The teller that orders my halves told me I could bring them back there but I am afraid to jeaporadize my half dollar orders. So for now I think I will stick to ordering and Dumping my halves at different locations

Big7mag, I would be afraid of jeopardizing the ordering bank if you took them back, your right I think I would keep taking them at your regular dump bank. I wish I had a bank in the area with a coin counter but after calling 12 different banks nobody seems to have one. But if your bank orders them and the other bank takes them I wouldnt want to mess anything up with your system. Keep up the hunt!
