The devices on the obverse of the coin are noticeably thicker than normal. I highlighted what I believe are separation lines and/or a "smaller" letter on top of the "big" letter, similar to the 1972 DDO I just posted. There is also a notch on the L in LIBERTY and on the 2 in the date. I welcome your input.

On the L it looks like a worn die, doesn't look like a DDO to me.

Yes, I see the worn die/machine doubling to the left of the L too. My arrows may be too far left on the L, but I was pointing to what looks like a notch at the very top left of the L.

I pointed out the notch on the L better with the yellow arrow pointing straight on at it.

Looks like a normal 1982 large date copper cent. The devices on the normal ones this year already look larger than normal, but that is normal for this year. Note the three listed on coppercoins:

1982P-1DO-002

1982P-1DO-003

To see how much the devices are enlarged, I made a side by side of the 002 with a normal coin:

Note how much larger the DDO's are on this years coins. Your coin is a normal one.

Those 1982 DDOs are a pain. Especially when they have been worn down causing them to appear even bigger than normal.

Thank you all for your responses. Those pictures helped with seeing how huge the letters should be, thank you Coop. I agree that the lettering is already very big on this year. Is the notching on the L and 2 die wear?

It maybe a contact mark. When you looks so closely with too much magnification, nothing appears something. On the 'L' that is the only device affected on LIBERTY. The overall size of devices are normal. So it is not hub doubling. Hub doubling enlarges the devices.
