Not too bad, some wear showing on hair, but it's hard to read from the scans. I'm not good at interpreting Morgans from scans. Maybe some luster, and maybe dipped, not sure.

Can't tell much from scans. Looks to be scrubbed though. Can't quite judge this one with any confidence from the given photos

XF/AU Details -The coin has the appearance of being dipped and cleaned, but I am not seeing hairlines from cleaning. Would need to see coin in hand to confirm cleaning.

Buying $25 raw Morgan's on ebay is an excellent way to learn how to buy coins from photos, but you will pay for your education. You may want to consider buying MS63 common date Morgan's in a NGC or PCGS holder. You can find these in the price range of $40 to $55. There are about 40 common date Morgan's. The MS63 is a nice coin, but it is much like stacking silver because the value is mostly driven by the spot price of silver.

Looks AU to me. Somewhere in the 53-55 type range. I don't see any obvious problems in these pictures.

Surfaces and color seem unnatural to me.

Curious if you don't mind me asking. Why MS63 not 62's or 64's? I can get common date 64's for around $70 and the 62's are lower than the 63's

The MS61 and MS62 are a Mint State coin but will most likely have some type of distraction like heavy bag marks or low luster. On the MS63 there are so many graded common date Morgan's that one can find a quality coin for the grade. On the MS64 I simply drew the line at MS63 because of price when compared to staking low end raw Morgan's. Some of common date Morgan's in MS64 are a little more expensive.
At one time I had about 50 assorted common date MS63's, but I sold them and bought PL or DMPL Morgans. I wish I had kept them with silver on the rise.

The jump between MS64 and the MS65 Morgan is usually a major jump. You can buy many common date Morgans in MS64 for around 70 bucks. Then you get to that stage where even an AU coin is going to cost you over $100 and often well over $100 even for coins that are just not that rare. I have been looking on ebay for 84-S, 86-0, 88-S and these coins are expensive even in AU.

I like MS-64 as a grade for Morgans. It is before the big price jump, but they are still nice with clean cheeks. I wouldn't buy AU/BUs for $25 when you can get 64s for $70. And I sure wouldn't buy common dates in 63 for $55 when a 64 is $70.

Slider23 - thank you for explaining. At one point I had about 70 MS62's but sold them when I moved a few years back. I would agree about 90% were bag marked I think if I was buying 62's again I would be really picky. I got this one a few weeks back a few marks on the cheek but all in all not too bad Andrew99 - thank you as well. I have been focusing on 64's also lately the lower priced ones I think they are still a bargain when they are under $70
