I have been eye-balling a 1914 S eagle in a local coin shop for 4 months or more. I has been cleaned, otherwise very little if any wear. No dings, a VERY minor scratch in the obverse field.

I can get it for $50 over spot. It hasn't moved in 4 months or more from a coin shop with high turn-over.

I like the coin, I think I'm gonna buy it.

Am I missing something?

I'd say it's a steal at around $500 if it is in the condition stated.

If its been sitting there for a while you might be able to get the dealer to drop it down closer to melt too.

I put it on layaway today for $475.

I really need to get a camera, I know I'd benefit from the collective knowledge on this forum.

When I get the coin I'll get pics one way or another. It really doesn't look bad, though obviously cleaned. Thanks for the input!
