This is a really cool coin, it has all the end of strip features one would expect to see, when a rolled strip is trimmed or cut, to fit the blanking press. One used to see this more often, in US coins, when they split the rolled strips in half (length-wise), and the shearing/tearing effect of the metals could be seen. Such features are seen on the reverse of this coin.

I have to thank my fellow CCF collector, robmck1967, who alerted me to this error that was sitting in a box at J&M in Vancouver.

It is a really nice addition to my (slowly) growing collection of nickel dollar errors, and it is even better when there are collectors out there who not only think of their own collections, but those of friends too. That makes CCF a pretty special place.

You're welcome Roger. This is a coin community and helping each other is a big part of it. I appreciate the $2 blank German planchet you sent my way! And I know you will keep your eyes peeled for a 1967 50 cent clip to complete my set :)

I appreciate SPP's higher level focus on nickel dollars for the sake of the elevating and promoting their collection potential in general. Silver dollars, collector silver dollars or loonies all seem to have overshadowed interest in nickel dollars, yet for newer collectors, a basic collection of the series 1968 to 1987 is worthy of consideration because it's very achievable, without great cost.
