I'm asking for a friend. I figured some sort of chemical treatment but I wanted to see what everyone here says.



1951-5c-Brass-Appearance-On-Reverse.

The colour is exact. No light manipulation at all.
It appears as a BU coin.

Any thoughts?

Looking at the chimney, it looks like contact marks have rubbed away some of the gold coloring to reveal the nickel. I believe post mint shenanigans:)
