I picked up this early copper at a show and finally got around to taking a few pics. I'm suspecting it's a C-4, but I've erred on occasions in the past. I'm seeing it as a VG details piece and hope there are sufficient markers to determine the variety with confidence.

Observations and opinions would be most appreciated!

I agree. What does the edge lettering look like?

Can you be more specific, please? I don't have a Cohen book. I simply compared the obverse and reverse dies with pics of various 1794's. I can get some pics of the edge tomorrow, if needed.

There are two types of edge lettering, large and small. Small is normal for the variety, and large would make this coin worth $50,000.

This is what large lettering looks like. I cannot find an image of small lettering for the life of me.

Well, at least we now have images of a small lettered edge on hand. Thanks for your interest, TypeCoin.

Despite its' scudzy state, I do like the obverse detail.
