I appreciate y'all's feedback, as I really want to learn how to grade with a reasonable degree of accuracy. (I understand it takes a lot of practice.)

I'm thinking VG-8 detail (scratches on reverse). What say the experts?

I'd say F12, in my opinion.

The left wheatstalk seems to be reflecting back light and cannot be seen clearly. If the lines are basically full, as on the right side, then it probably makes 12. Looks like someone started to clean the obverse, perhaps with an eraser.

I say F12.
I am not sure obverse patch with color is toning or metal annealing problem(woodie).

Coin flip does not match "woodie" area on reverse. The obverse disturbance does not relate to the discoloration on the reverse as far as I can see. A details coin to me.

Hey, good eye, there, Coinfrog.. something to consider.

I say Fine..

Actually, I had to come back and ask.. what do you mean by "scratches" on the reverse, dd27? Are you referring to the golden striped area at the bottom, through "UNITED" and also between the wheat ear stalks? Because I do not see any scratches..
