Hi,

I was going through my dad's WWII letters and inside one envelope was the Japanese WWII Bond. Anyone know if it is worth anything and what the value of the bond is?

Thanks,
Peaches

There's enough collectors of WWII memorabilia that even the "garbage" military surplus stuff has value.

This isn't my area of expertise, but my gut tells me that you could probably find a buyer for this.

Also, for what it's worth, even though the yen has existed since 1870, the aftermath of WWII killed its value. What might have been a $100 bond in 1940 would have a face value of 95 cents today.

I don't own any books for this kind of thing, but I have a WWII bond similar to this one. All of the WWII bonds I've ever seen have a similar style to my bond, so I would guess yours is a different type of bond or was issued before the war. I may be very wrong as I'm no expert on the subject, but that's my guess.

Thanks for the help with this. Here is the back side -- maybe someone can translate a little of it.
