It's a little hard with this size of photo to be sure, but from a wear standpoint it looks AU at worst. What I can't tell from these images is if the surfaces are original, unpolished and free of hairlines.

Is that some sort of gunk at the top of the reverse?

Images are a bit small for me to judge but from what I see it would be XF. However, there are some spots on that coin that I cannot really identify as scratches (like the obverse around the obverse 'V') and by the look of the reverse top part I was wondering if this coin had been mounted.
