Do not clean coins. Collectors value condition, patina, and provenance; among many other things. Being old does not make a coin valuable. It helps. Where was it minted? What is the face value? Is there a date on it? Some coins do not have dates. We are interested in your questions, honest. But we need something to work with. Please post again, soon.

Huh.
Can you show the other side as well?
It isn't a real coin--I can tell that right away from the legend alone. Gibberish, poorly engraved, with backwards letters. The person who made this was working from memory or perhaps a very poor quality picture.
My best guess is this is an extremely low purity gold made in China or thereabouts, for jewelry purposes. A jewler would be able to tell you if it has any precious metal at all.

I guess this medal should imitate an Austrian coin. They were minted with that eagle around 1800 and from what I see this may be the worst attempt to copy a Maria Theresia Thaler.

The only good way to determine the age is to know who created it.
But it isn't a genuine coin. The side pictured is a terrible copy of some coins from around 1800.
