Has any one had any experience with this objective? A Multi coated version is being sold locally. Its an RMS mount. What caught my interest is it covers the magnification range 5X -10X, however I think its speed(F4.5) may be a problem. The only information I have found is this:

I have the 20mm and 90mm Mikrotars and they are superb. I don't use them much, just as I don't often use my 74mm S-Planars, only pulling them out on special occasions.

Thanks. It is really tempting to get that lens but I have coins I want to buy!! They are asking over €400.00 for it( its in extremely good condition).......yet that magnification range is very attractive. To say I am ambivalent is an understatement!!

I wonder if this lens is better than a 4x, 5x, or 10x microscope objective? I suppose the lens would cover a full frame sensor, though. I wonder if it would it offer any advantage with an APS-C sensor?

The better question, for me, would be: For the same IQ which would be cheaper? The Mikrotar or the summed cost of the necessary microscope objectives( or single infinity objective plus the necessary tube lenses) to cover the same magnification range. All a bit academic as I decided more coins in my collection is the preferred option.
