Are Swarovski coins like Nickleback? Some people love them, and others find them tacky? I don't think we'll solve that riddle today, but while exploring today I found what may be, in my humble opinion, the best use of Swarovski's yet, in a coin:

Looks trashy to me. IMHO, coins should be made of gold, silver, and/or copper, and they shouldn't be "colorized" or have gemstones, etc. Just looks gimmicky, definitely evidence of bubble activity. Personally, I stay far away from these types of coins. Others may have different opinions and may even make money on such items, and I can appreciate that, but as for me, no thanks.

I tend to agree with you beem but there are a few exceptions I think that have done these gem insets quite tastefully, there's one I seen where they used Opal to create the effect of the night sky.

I'm inclined to generally agree with the notion that the gems (and coulorizing with screen-printing) have no place in currency [though I've seen some enamelling that I think works nicely], but something about this beady-eyed little guy appeals to me.
