@canadian_coins

Imaginative way of getting the "Point" across. That is what the third coin is all about. And, filling the holes in that elegant case just keeps adding to the story telling.

Thank you for such an eloquent post about this first series of Canada's celebration that I so enjoy collecting:))))))

Story telling is written in Morse so most people will miss the "point".

Seriously, it's all about getting all the holes filled with coins that "should" inspire. Let's wait for a few more coins until we put the nails to the coffin.

Ah, there's an obvious problem. I can't read Morse. LOL!

Although I don't have have young children, if I subscribed to this series for the sake of it becoming a memorable 150th anniversary keepsake, as opposed to story telling which I'm obviously drawing a blank at, instead I'd make it into a fun type of "search and seek" family game. RCM states the images on each coin were taken from Canadian Geographic. So we'd make it into a challenge to try to find the matching photograph that was in a past issue of the magazine. Past issues of Canadian Geographic are usually quite easy to find - the library, or at almost give-away prices from used book or 2nd hand stores, garage sales, etc. By searching, the children might also find other interesting articles to add a secondary educational component.

3rd coin received today. I little bit too much on the blue side but otherwise higher quality than the second coin. No Morse code this time.

Thank you for continuing to post "live" images of this ongoing series.

I'll be interested to hear which you find the most appealing after you have received them all.

As always - excellent imaging canadian_coins!

Looks to be the first coin of the series with "Canada" in a vertical orientation. I think all the other coins you've displayed had the inscription at the top or bottom of the scene depicted.

Grizzly would have lost its paws if orientation was the same as others.
or picture would have to be smaller. RCM got it right I think.
Also my favorite so far. Great pictures

Aurora Borealis - Yukon - Coin #9

In hand the coin is dark and gloomy. Blurry and pixelated image... this rendition is certainly not the best of the series.

Thanks for continuing to share this series "live" with us here on CCF via your great images.

Coin #3 with the lighthouse is my favorite so far.
