Would like someones opinion, I found this penny and looked up on different sites about it. Have to admit understanding double die, double stamp etc...it's so confusing, but fun at the same time. I hope no one minds if I ask a lot of questions and post pictures, I appreciate your opinions.

Not exactly sure of your question, but the value on this example with apparent marks or rust pits would be very low - I doubt your LCS would be interested in buying it at any price, for example. If you question has something to do with doubling, we would need much better pics.
Rest in Peace

They are a lot more common than people think. If in better condition, would only be worth about $0.50 to $1. I've got about 4,000 of those.

Basically, we're talking a few cents if you are selling, and maybe 20 cents if you are buying - this is not a nice example.

Welcome! As the others say it really isn't worth much. But if you have any interest in coin collecting then hold onto it. It isn't all about having the most expensive coins. A big part of what we like is owning an example of the diversity of coins and the history they represent. That is pretty much the only steel coin in the history of the US and is that way directly as a result of WWII, so it has an interesting story to tell. I'd guess many of us started with one like that then eventually sought out a high quality example for our collections later on once we knew we were sticking with collecting.

Like Saruma said not much value. For me the value of the steel cents are not so much in the collector value, but when my Dad first showed me his LWC collection I saw these for the first time. As a child to took me forever to believe him when he said it was "real". I just new they were some sort of fake.

Thank you everyone for your input, you are making this senior citizen feel a little bit more comfortable with asking questions about coins. I enjoy looking at all the coins that many post on this site and the answers are a great help. Thanks again!

As others posted .. pretty common coin.

Because they were so different, many were saved.

Many coin shops will have bulk Wheat cent bins.
Coins like this can be found in those bins.

Coins shops will pay .02 cents and try to sell for
.05 cents. Or at least in those ranges.

If a coin shop 2X2's that coin, they might try to get
.15 to .20 cents.
