Looks like a sanded coin to me. PSD Believe it or not, I actually went to a one room school when I was a kid. A school almost like that one in Iowa.

to CCF. This coin was damaged after it left the mint. And coop, that's pretty cool, maybe it just so happened to be the building the designer put on the coin.

Yeah, I agree with Dustin. It just seems to got one heck of a wear somewhere, haha. Though, for some odd reason, I do like the look of the coin. Even though it holds no value other than face.

That would make a great candidate for a lowball grade coin. Probably a FR-02 but wouldn't be surprised if it graded PO-01.
