A recent purchase here ... 1883-O $1 graded by PCGS. Coin should arrive very soon; these are seller's auction photos cropped and resized. What do you think? As always, thank you very much ;)

Thank you for guessing. I will allow some time for others to respond before revealing the grade. Quote: I looked online I'm guessing ms64 dmpl? What do you mean by looking online? For comparison sake, or trying to locate this coin online. I apologize if that is a dumb question ha.

definitely looks DMPL so I will go with a conservative MS63DMPL. Very nice coin

OK, I want one in the worst way. Probably the earliest example of this die known to man. You imbibe!

What's with all the apparent vertical scratches on both sides? On the holder, I guess?

Quote: What's with all the apparent vertical scratches on both sides? On the holder, I guess? Die polishing lines. I feel like I see these on tons of the earlier San Francisco coins. Thanks for all of the comments! Oh and yes to VAM-1C1 ;)

Coin frog I guess die polishing marks. I looked on ebay to see if you won it on there recently, then I saw a very similar example hence my consensus of 64dmpl

Quote: What's with all the apparent vertical scratches on both sides? On the holder, I guess? Actually these lines are common on PL Morgan dollars The mirrored fields really make them stand out. This one does have more than most this is partly why is gave it a 63.

Thanks Imthealphaomega. I didn't realize you could do that, but sure enough I found the coin with a quick advanced search. I am very happy to have upgraded this variety from a 64PL to a 63DMPL! I would have thought 63+ DMPL perhaps, because I've seen much worse 63s and worse 64s too. Being DMPL I guess the lines are a little tighter. Quote: You imbibe! Hehehe, thanks
