Help please. I'm an Lincoln Cent guy with limited knowledge regarding IHC's, so all I know about this coin is that the 1 and the 8 look cool. Would someone happen to know which variety it is? Thank you for your time.

Of course, sorry.

The only additional doubling I can see on this very worn (AG) coin is what appears to be Machine Doubling under the bust.

Is there an IHC variety website I can go to try to attribute this coin?

Thanks. Here you go:

Could it be a very worn example of a 1864 L RPD-001 as shown here? http://indianvarieties.com/cents/in...4-l-rpd-001/

Definitely RPD. This is most likely 1864-L Snow-7, or just possibly Snow-1 - they are very similar, and I think they would be virtually indistinguishable from one another in this worn state.

In the 3rd Edition of the his book Rick states, the 1864-L Snow-7 variety was found to be a later die state of S1.

MVC - Thanks. I used to collect these seriously (no longer) but have not kept up to date.
