This coin was the right price so I picked it up. I know very little about it. It measures 19mm. If anyone can assist me with an identification I would truly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and assistance. Doug

Seljuk of Rum fals, It think it's Rukn al-Din Sulayman 1196-1204, I wish there was more of the legend visible to be 100% sure.

Here is a little better pic of the reverse. I don't know if it actually shows any more of the legend though. I appreciate the help that you have given me. Doug

The only Seljuks of Rum fals that I've seen with that little arabesque under the horse were Kay Khusru ibn Kilij Arslan (a.k.a. Kay Kushru I; a.k.a. Kaykhusraw I)...but perhaps other rulers used that same motif? https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/wa...Default.aspx

I thought that also, but what I could make out of the legend it didn't match. But I could be wrong. I often am.

I really appreciate the information. I could not find any with the arabesque under the horse. Once again, I appreciate your time.

I am sorry. I was not clear. Until I got your link, I could not find any with the arabesque searching on my own. Thank you so much.

Well I think at this point I'm going to have to defer to those that know more about this type that I do. I see Bob's point where on the Khursu type there is the design under the horse. I just don't know if that only appeared on his coins or was it also present on other rulers. If not than I would have to go along with Bob and say it is Khursu. The reverse legend would confirm that or not, but there isn't enough of the legend to say for sure.
