Roll hunting I got a box of MS harper's. They have so many problems I don't know were to start. From my view they could be greased die and MDD and die break. I would like to make sure before I dump them. There are up to nine different spots on each coin all very similar.
I think the extra leaf on the right column bothers me the most. Would like to hear what you think it is.

Had to go to the US Mint to find an example to compare with.

http://catalog.usmint.gov/harpers-f...4362&start=1

Seems to have some faint details to the left and the right of fore front building. Also lower left of building is faint from die wear or maybe Grease Filled Die.

The right side of the barrels are interesting as well. Not sure if that's normal or not. I'd hold onto until someone with more knowledge responds as I'm not the best one to be responding on this particular series or coin.

Just thought it looked cool and needed further review to help me understand as well. Thanks' Doug.

Adding in the obverse is hard to tell from the picture just what I'm seeing in it.

Thanks, the buildings on the sides are light compared to my other ones. I have some with three W"s in west. The doubled barrels are on ebay now not mine but they are a D mint. Same error different mint? Were all the dies weak?

If the "W" in WEST or any incused devices seem to be larger, typically means MD.

The incused devices will typically be narrower if doubled die is suspected and broader when machine damage is present.

Its kind of the opposite of what you'd see on raised devices.

Doubt all dies were weak, but rather wore down over time. Again I'm not that familiar with these. So take my say so as just one opinion. Wait for others. Thanks, Doug.
