i received this in 1976 from a bank. I worried it was counterfeit so I called local police who sent it off to treasury dept. they declared it was real and had been exposed to chemicals possibly. attached are pictures of front and back. can anybody tell me if they've run across anything like this? Is it worth anything? note that the treasury dept actually wrote on it that it was official. Also police dept wrote on it, they received it. the other "50-5671-8 acct" was already written on it.

That's pretty neat, having a bill authenticated by the Secret Service! Welcome to the CCF! I was wondering if long exposure in the sun would cause this type of bleaching. It would explain why only one side was affected.

I think I read that the sun can do this but to me it looks like it was also wet at on time.
