That is a nice one, I had an usual one as well about a month ago that I posted here. It ran from the E in United on the top left an went into the building - pretty sure it was also an 1983. I don't think COC lists die cracks though unless they are rim to rim and then I think it is called a Retained Cud.

We'll see what the others say

It is raised and there is no PMD to make it raised. There is just some exposed zinc showing

I emailed JC earlier. He said it might be zinc rot. I then sent him the newer image and I am waiting for a response

I too was thinking zinc rot when I saw the first pic. If you run a utility knife across a zincoln, it will raise from metal displacement and rotting and mimic a Die Crack. The second pic is more convincing.

Here is the post I had on my cool looking die crack where the crack went through the building . It was for a 1990 though.

Excellent link, CC. Nice coin and it's always good to learn about classifications.

I had to think about this one for bit. Die Cracks from the top of the memorial are very common. Yours is unusual because of the location of the crack. Most Lincoln Memorial cent Die Cracks from the top of the Lincoln Memorial run up to the rim. This one runs down to the last "A" in "AMERICA".

Congratulations Dustin, I had no idea that COC listed die cracks that weren't rim-to-rim.
