All:
Please consider providing informative posts to this board. If you have lurked here without contributing, please know we want to hear from you and welcome you! If you have, up to now, only posted coins in the hopes someone will either i.d. them or offer up opinions regarding authenticity, please also contribute some posts about coins that you already know things about - show us pics and share with readers what you find interesting about them. Link us to online information that will help us to understand the context, the history, the artistry of your coins. Educate us! Entertain us! Enlighten us!
And, in doing so, don't give any worry at all to the depth, the degree of research, the length of your posts. You can simply show us an occasional cool ancient/medieval coin and explain why you purchased it. Give us a chance to applaud you for your acquisition. Now, of course, if you can tell us a bit about the coin to broaden our understanding of its context, so much the better. Icing on the cake!
(Of course, requests for i.d.'s and opinions are still always welcome!)
Below are some links to great examples of informative, insightful, educational posts from the masters: dspenciner, TypeCoin97179, and VisigothKing. Now, although these guys set the bar quite high, there is in fact no need for post-envy here! Just provide some simple show and tell, please!
