The new Charlton banknote catalog recently came out. I read in CCN that there is new news about the J/A prefix bills. I am curious to know what the information is. Can anyone fill me in? Would appreciate any information. I may purchase the book but not right away.

All right, here's the info as listed in the book

"A newly published census of 1937 narrow panel $1 notes with prefix J/A records 35 examples of which 22 are graded Fine or Lower. For more information please consult the Canadian Paper Money Society Note Registry (3rd Edition, 2016) Expect additional notes to turn up, it is generally considered that narrow Panel $1 notes with prefix H/A are approximately ten times more numerous than those with prefix J/A."

The book still has the "Quantity Printed" column as unknown! Hope that is what you were looking for.

I ordered the Note Registry today - I am sure that I will find it helpful with past and future purchases
