Just showing off French States-Bishopric City Of Strasbourg 15th-16th Century Kreuzer. I love how the different sides have different designs around and quality of the fleur-de-lis. I will eventually get it identified as to the exact one that it is.

Nice piece to start out with.
Some of the smaller French hammered gold is amongst the most affordable of hammered gold coins generally.

Coinage In France From the Dark Ages to Napoleon,
by Nicholas Mayhew, is a good introductory book on French medieval coinage.

Coins of Medieval Europe,
is a well researched book, by Philip Grierson,
is also an excellent more general reference, which is supported by a huge bibliography.

This coin is right at 17mm in diameter. I do not have a scale that can weigh it. I will see if I can figure out a weight.

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

Thank you for the offer. If I cannot find it myself in the next day or two, I will probably take you up on it.

spence- I will now take the help. I cannot find any examples online with the four dots on one side and none on the other. If you can identify/attribute this one, I would appreciate it.
