Any word on the street about any kind of special half dollar commemoration in 2017 for JFK's Centennial? Obviously, we had a fairly big product offering to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the coin in 2014, it seems something would be appropriate for the 100th anniversary of his birth.
While the 2014 coins honored the coin's 50th anniversary, it was inspired by JFK's tragic death. It'd be nice to recognize his birth, something a little more positive.

I don't think that they will do any special releases because they just did the 50th anniversary sets in 2014.

Agreed. It would be cool to have a different reverse though. I like the idea.

I think they should do the same thing like they did in 2009 with the pennies, and include these in the 2017 proof sets. It would be cool to have another lense, and have 4 silver half dollars in the silver proof set but we can only dream of it!  |

Oh, that is a good idea! We lose a whole lens next year without the Presidential dollars and this will definitely make the silver proof set one to have. |

Maybe a space program reverse to resonate with the Apollo 11 reverse on the ike. Jbuck would like that.

Yes I would, very much!  We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard...Oh! We can design the reverse to somehow include "We choose to go to the Moon..." Boston, PT-109, Space Program/Moon Landing. Three down, one to go.  |

Oh, now that could work! So we have birth (Boston), war hero (PT-109), inspiration for space program (We choose to go to the moon), and tragic loss (JFK Jr. Salute). Friends, I think we have our Kennedy Centennial Program! Call your Senator and Reps today. |
