Hi,

Does anyone have any idea about this coin? Its fairly thick, with a plain edge and about an inch in diameter. The writing on may be Thai, although have not managed to find any Thai coins or tokens from any period similar to this one.

Any ideas would be great!
Thanks

The script is Devanagari, and the language is Sanskrit, I believe.

It's from the Indian princely state of Baroda, a 2 paisa dated 1947 on the local calendar, equating to 1890 AD. Listed in Krause as KM/Y# 32.2, noted for having a "thick planchet" compared with subsequent years.

Not particularly scarce; CV $3.50 in EF.
