So, I was at the local coin shop and they had one of those commemoratives put out by "Coins of America" that recognized the Department of the Army. It says it's 1 troy oz of .999 silver. With the price of silver where it is, I decided to buy it for the $20.00 on the price tag. The whole time I kept thinking that the coin itself isn't much of a deal, but the silver price wasn't too bad.

Whatcha think?

Well as of right now you basically paid exactly what its silver bullion value is. If the price of silver continues to climb, which it will, then you did alright. Plus if you like the coin then all the better.

Thanks, that was my reasoning, as well.

I visited this coin shop about a week ago and was pretty shocked to see actual price tags on the bullion pieces, but even more excited to see that they hadn't changed them today. However, when the guy looked at the price tag to ring me up, his face changed a little. Dollars to donuts that they'll all be updated tomorrow or later today. I told my wife that I almost went on a spending spree without her knowledge, but I didn't.
