We need a new diversion on here.

Numismatic uno!

The objective:
To demonstrate the impressive historical, social, and geographic breadth of our hobby through the identification of unlikely links between very different coins. And so that we can all learn new things!

The rules:
- You must post a coin, note, or form of currency with some link to the coin before you. You must own (or have owned in the past) what you post.
- Links can include but are not limited to, the year on the coin, an event from history, a person from history, a denomination etc.
- No tag-backs! Don't post the same or similar coin as the one the previous poster is tagging. E.g. if a poster tags a LWC with a IHC, be more creative than posting another LWC.
- Give explanations and history!

I'll post the first two to get us started

New-Game:-Numismatic-Uno!

1940 Jefferson nickel

Thomas Jefferson was a critical member of the early US government, and bitterly disagreed with Hamilton over the finances of the fledgling nation. The Mint was taking a loss over the production of the first cents,

And Jefferson suggested that the Mint consider outsourcing their production to private firms. One such pattern, dubbed the "Jefferson head" is one of the rarer variety coins in American numismatics.

So from here, you could post:

- Any one cent coin from US history
- Any coin of King George III, the enemy of the Founding Fathers
- Any coin worldwide from the same time period (1790s)
- Etc

Have fun!

A fun and creative idea.
