If I were you, and knowing how ICCS grades cameo coins, I would insist on "Heavy Cameo" when you resubmit it...
"Discovery follows discovery, each both raising and answering questions, each ending a long search, and each providing the new instruments for a new search." -- J. Robert Oppenheimer
Wait so... Do I have to specify cameo ( or Heavy Cameo) on the submission form? I figured that was something they saw and was obvious enough that I didn't have to write it down.
You can specify whatever you wish. Whatever they put there is another thing. I have several Cameo / Heavy Cameo George VI Prooflike Silver dollars from 1950 through 1952 , not one has ever had CAMEO put on the holder.
I have a collection of cameo nickels with just the cameo on one side. All certified by ICCS as cameo. So they do certify them, it just needs a certain degree of cameo. I would say hands down you will get 'cameo' 'heavy cameo' is a definite possibility!
