After several years of going through thousands of nickels there are two which to my minds eye stand out as uncommon, they are the 2000P and the 2001 no P both of these do not come easy when checking through nickels especially in better grades. Now if my old brain serves me well I did read that the mint does not give out mintage figures for these individual years. I would estimate from my experience that the 2000P comes up about 1/500 ratio and the 2001 no P about 1/750 ratio. I am on the west coast so not sure if this has anything to do with it. Has anybody got any explanation or thoughts.

5 cents 2001 : 30 035 000
5 cents 2000 - P : 4 899 000

these number are easily found here http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1965-2016

I stopped pulling these after I had found about 3 rolls worth of both of them, I ended up releasing 2 rolls of each back into the wild

Hoard all 2000Ps!
I sell these on rolls (circulated) for $20-30 each and yes they do sell for that price. I've gotten as high as $45 for a roll earlier in the year.
2000Ps are NOT throw away coins!

2001 no PS are no where near as valuable but still rare. I average at $5/roll for these. I was getting $8-9 but these have also slowed down from the beginning of the year. Circulated rolls aren't selling good right now but you can buy mint rolls for $35 on ebay.

Keep the No P ones too. They will be scrapped by the ARP program while the P ones will remain circulating.
