adobero1 Valued Member United States 363 Posts	Posted 11/10/2005 9:37 pm Well...the blob in front of the eye does look like a die chip, but...the Cherrypicker's Guide states that on that variety doubling is present also on the motto, Liberty, and the date. If the pics were just a little better, the doubling looks real to me on the letters; can you see notching and is the doubling raised and rounded on the letters? I can't tell from the pics. adobero1 Valued Member United States 363 Posts	Posted 11/10/2005 9:44 pm I just looked at the photo again and made it bigger, I'm pretty sure I see some notching on the top serif of the "E", so that part I would say is a true doubled die, (not Strike Doubling), but I can't say about the doubled eye. This coin is in fact the 1943-P two eyes DDO breens #2688, I posted it as a question to see if any interest could be ignited. This coin Grades at about a VF-35 giving it an approximate value of 25-$30.00 and was taken from a 4.50,, 10 nickle lot that I purchased on ebay about 6 months ago . Im hoping to generate more interest in this type of coin on the forum, I'm relatively new to error,varieties myself and would really like someone to share the trip with !!
