Hello everyone. I have really enjoyed alot of the helpful tips I have picked up on this forum. I would like to know if anyone has had any good experiences from buying from "saratogatrading" on ebay. They don't post pictures but they are offering some good deals on BU morgans with semi key dates as "buy it now" and I am hesitant since I have been burned and burned. You know, if it is too good to be true....

Almost everyone here will agree with this statement

Buy the COIN...not the grade/slab/or description

I have no experience with them. Quick takeaways from perusing their stuff:

- They're auctioning SGS-slabbed coins without a disclaimer. SGS is the most notorious self-slabber in America. Draw your own conclusion.

- I, personally, wouldn't spend over $50 on a sight-unseen coin if God Himself was selling it, much less some Ebayer. Remember, ANY coin worth more than, say, $200 will sell for significantly more money in a reputable grading slab than raw. All dealers know that. If the coin is $400, and it isn't in a slab, you have to wonder why.

Been there, done that, I would again.

It is, of course, a moral choice of whether to deal with such a seller. I look very closely at SGS slabs - even though they're horribly overgraded, they're also usually pretty good coins. Unlike Ravelex, who slabs anything round, SGS goes through a huge volume of coins and tends to weed out the true crap. I suspect he has another seller ID for the raw stuff which wouldn't go into a slab.

Personally I would just stay away from any coin in an SGS slab especially if I couldn't see it. I like raw coins for the most part, I do have coins in slabs though PCGS, NGC, ANACS and would not even buy these sight unseen.
