This is a new one to me. No doubt it is rare, but how many of us have run a magnet over 1967 quarters? I can't recall the possibility of 1967 quarters being anything other than silver ever mentioned anywhere. Anyone else, or was this a recent discovery?

it is a pattern coin, a test piece for the next year since silver was getting expensive. I got to see one a few months ago, they're really cool.

Thanks thedollarman, that explains it. So it's highky unlikely any would be found in general circulation and this might be another example of a prototype that originally left through the back door of the mint. But I certain,y agree, it's a really cool experimental piece.

DC-34 pattern, I used to own one (bought it as ICCS MS-64, put it into a PCGS SP-64 slab). They are all specimen strikes, no idea why ICCS grades them as MS. About 12-15 are known. That ebay coin is about three times overpriced. I sold mine for $4500 in 2014.

Although kind of cool, it lacks eye appeal as errors go, without designation on label looks like a regular 67 quarter. Just my Two Cents worth especially what they sell for

That's because it is not an error (off-metal strike) it is a recognized pattern strike. Patterns tend to be quite expensive.
