Any ideas if this rim issue adds or detracts from the value of this coin? First pic show issue in question around 8 o'clock position on rim.

could be, but I don't see the blakesly affect on the other side. might be because the clip is so small, or because of wear.

It looks like there is a blakesley effect to the opposite side very minor if I am not mistaken. But my eyes have been known to play tricks on me before..

It looks like an authentic clip to me. There might be a bit of a collector interest in it due to its age - there are not a lot of 1940s clips compared to later dates.

I agree with Scissel...it looks legit to me. I see a blakesley effect between the REX and ET on the obverse although a weak one due to the size of the clip. I also agree that there would be some interest in it due to the age. I have 200 plus clips but only 3 from the 40's. Cool coin!
