The toning hides the luster with this one, at least in the pics. What's your opinion on grade? Thanks.

Might make 63, but that's about it.

I would think MS-62 from these pictures.

AU55. Very low eye appeal. If this is a MS coin, 61 or a generous 62 is tops.

I'm surprised with some of the answers. Here are a couple of more pics in natural light. As I said, it looks better in person and it's hard to capture all of the luster, especially with the toning. The detail seems to be there on both sides and the surfaces/fields look relatively clean, so what am I missing?

There is rub or chatter in front of the nose, on the cheek near the hair line, a scratch between the eyelid and P in PLUR, one behind the cap at UNUM, and a scrape on the cheek behind the nose. The luster is flat and the toning is unattractive, with possible fingerprint toning behind the cap/hair vee to the right field and again on the reverse from the right wing at ED in UNITED. The obverse rim has a cut at E in E PLUR, and the reverse rim has dings at UN and T in UNITED, and at TE in STATES.
All in all, if MS, it is a textbook net MS61-MS62 coin, and if AU, AU53-AU55. The negative eye appeal significantly impairs the net grade. Technical grade, it might make MS 63 if you discount all other factors except wear.

I get all of that. I guess I was looking for more of a technical grade. I've seen Morgans with zero eye appeal (dull, no luster, bad toning, etc.) get BU or CU grades based strictly on objective analysis. Obviously, eye appeal is more subjective and varies based on each individual, which is what I was getting at. I could see this grading low MS, but it's hard for me to see it as an AU coin. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

It looks low MS from here. I'd guess MS62 but if the high points lack luster then it drops to 58.
