Of course, the best online Coin Collecting/Numismatic glossary is the CCF Glossary. (Very helpful!)

Oh, CCF = Coin Community Family, i.e., this forum that you are visiting right now, http://www.CoinCommunity.com (I am trying to practice what I preach and define acronyms in my posts.)

I should therefore add that i.e.= Latin abbreviation for id est (that is).

And there's a good one on Red-It (a site whose name and URL is blocked here) in the r/coins sub-red-it. Search for "coin terms definitions abbreviations and acronyms".

You saw what I did there, eh?

TAFN! = That's All For Now!

YHS = Your Humble Servant, a common valediction in past centuries.

AKA = Also Known As

So far I've never had to use a coin Glossary.

Remember, all acronyms are initialisms, but not all initialisms are acronyms.

Shoot, I didn't remember that distinction.

Perhaps because I never knew about it in the first place!

Thanks jbuck! As a certified word geek, I always appreciate learning something new about our language (and other languages).

I find it humorous that none of those are acronyms
