I would call it a damaged coin, but what do I know?

Here is the closest error I could find for "die smear". I am not sure there is an error called "die smear"?

This coin may have been squeezed in a vice.

The proper terminology for a "die smear" would probably be Slide Doubling. I have a Kennedy half dollar showing this type of doubling very well. If I can find it, I will post some images of it later.
Your coin has been damaged after it was struck. Like in a vise or press of some sort. Damaged coins are not worth any more than face value unless there is metal value in them, like Silver, Gold, or Copper.

On this image, you can see the whole obverse side of the coin. Notice how the die slid over the entire surface, leaving a smeared look to all the details .

Here is a close up of the date area. See how the details look smeared?
