Very nice coins Andre. But....
I notice that you took the coins out of the holder. This is OK as long as you open the case in a dust-free space. Wear gloves (cleanroom types).
I see dust particles on your coins now and what you do to get rid of them is potentially going to alter the surface. Remember not to blow at the dust... At PR-68 the tiniest of speckle will stand out like a pimple.

Snaz, I admit doing the same thing sometimes... But I do wear proper attire. And re-slab the coins immediately. Dust will settle very quickly...

Hi Snaz
The reason why these coins are out of the holder is that I buy the set and the only thing that I keep in that set is the silver dollar and silver twoonie,i don't mind doing this just to get both of those coins and when they are taking out of the older I use medical glove.
For what it is left from this holder the coins you see on this page they will proberly end up in the selling or trading forum someday.

Andre, speaking of twoonies, do you have the 1996 and 2006 24k proof? Something very interesting I noticed with the 4 kt gold 1996 outer ring and 2006 inner core.

Andre, Yes I do have those as well. In the two I mentioned the difference is in the silver/gold alloy used instead of silver/copper (or pure silver). The odd metal composition (17.2% gold and 77.6% silver) - 4kt yields something very unique and fantastic regarding the oxidation. I was wondering if others had seen this effect. And why would silver oxidize more when mixed with gold? None of my other proof silver coins have oxidized like these two have. Marc

Hi Marc
I took a look on the net about the two composition and the only andswer that I could come close to is that in normal time Gold and Silver do not oxidize, one of the given reason why it those was the coin may have been touch by human hand

I would never ever touch my coins with my hands!! The oxidation is pronounced but with a smooth gradient - no way caused by hand. The 2006 4 kt gold also does the same thing! The inner core is oxidized on the edge. I wish the Mint made more coins with this metal composition, it is beautiful.

Is that from the Baby Keepsake set or is it available seperately?
