Have had this a while looking it again and again looks undergraded. Looks PL too. What's your thoughts?

Not PL, lots of luster breaks, minor hits on chin and across from bridge of nose in left field of obverse: MS 63 would be my top grade.

PCGS graded it ms64. Price increases a lot in 65. Considering cracking and sending into NGC. Will try better pics tomorrow, to show PL surfaces (Ipad can only catch so much).

I'd leave it in the PCGS holder.

Pics so far seem to show lots of scattered field and chin marks, even if relatively small. Just doesn't look clean enough for 65.

This discussion reminds me of a recent article in Coin World. Current state of certified grading of coins: Some collectors, dealers, continue resubmission game by Q. David Bowers, 05 Feb 2016 (online), 22 Feb 2016 (print). Quote: If a coin is resubmitted five times to a grading service it makes five times more profit than if it is sent only once. I have told the story of a well-known dealer who submitted an MS-64 1916-D Winged Liberty Head dime 23 times, then on the 24th try it came back MS-65 and was worth many thousands of dollars more. The grading service won. The dealer won. Both big time. The buyer neither won nor lost, for he was content with his treasure. ~ Mark P.S. Imthealphaomega - This is not meant as a criticism of you. You're asking a legitimate question IMHO.

Looking at your pictures I'm surprised it made MS64. I would have thought MS63 tops. IMO, if you crack it and send it back in, there is a greater chance it will come back one grade lower not higher.

I'm keeping it at is. Granted these pics were not as good as the ones I took of my 42s walker,,,,what things lighting will do. I will be posting Morgan's soon from my cousins late husbands collection. There are some nice coins and I am looking to buy the entire collection. Granted there are some cleaned coins including I think a cleaned gem 78cc and a 91cc sadly.
