I have this little Spanish silver cob. I don't know much about these pieces and I was trying to determine the denomination. It weighs only 0.7g. - does that make it a 1/4 Real? I have not been able to find another like it.

Thank you!

Hi,

The 1/4 real just had a castle on one side and a lion on the other side.
The cross design was used on 1/2 reales - with a monogram on the other side.

This looks like a trimmed / worn-out 1/2 real to me.

Hi - thank you! Would it be something like this? The shape is similar too.

It just seems to be such a significant weight loss - more than half! It is hard to tell by photos but I think my coin is much thinner than this one.
