I have a nickel the date is either 19_5 or 19_6 I m not sure. I seen a lot of posts about errors on those years but I'm not sure where or how to look for those errors. If I have the Indian face up and turn it over (left -right) is the buffalo suppose to be upside down? Anything would be helpful thanks!

yes, that is how US coins are minted. It is called coin alignment. If the Buffalo were right-side up it would be medal alignment.
Rest in Peace

We really need photos of the coin to see what's going on .
could be a bunch of different dates if your not sure of the last two numbers ,assuming the coin is worn .
yes when you turn the Nickel from left to right the Buffalo will be upside down .

Is the date area so bad you can not tell the exact date?
