Hi all,

I've been going through all of the cents that I sorted in order to downsize. I have about 40 coins that look like these. From my searches, it seems that I can just toss these back into the jug because they have no premium value right? Thank you.

I need close ups of the reverses. If there is a weakness on the devices on the reverse, they maybe collectable for a premium. The 2000 is very close.

Note on the example the devices are falling over the edge of the coin. But a new thought to me is the reverses. With the improper die alignment, the opposite may have a weakness. I would like to see the reverses up close to see if there is a weakness on the devices opposite the area where the most miss alignment happened. On this coin it was on AMERICA. Note black arrows.

Hey coop, in that image, the sentence is kind of unclear. "out of alignment coins will"
Coins will what?
The rest of it kind of explains it, but that confused me twice now.

Also, it never states "misaligned die." Newer collectors might not know what MAD means, like I didn't.

Looks like I forgot one word. 'have'. I can fix that. Thanks for pointing that out.

I still go by if some of the devices are missing it's a keeper. Both coins look close,I would keep them.

Nice. So the rim is considered a device and if any of the rim is missing you'd set it aside..?

Just the rim would be considered very minor. I've a few Jeffs that are missing nearly entire IGWT.
There are collectors who will say this is a common occurence,
however, those I mentioned were many dozens of boxes apart.

Nice. I have one good one. I'm inclined to just set the other 40 free.

Sometimes the MAD will be strong enough, but does not show a device falling over an edge because there is no device in that area. But by checking the reverse for the weakness I mentioned, you might be able to save one that might have been a keeper. Here is an example that may have been released because we didn't realize the weakness may have shown on the reverse:

Note the location of the edge of the bust?
Here is the correct location:

We didn't know to check the reverse so we don't know if it was one to keep or not?
Checking the reverse for the weakness on the devices will be the clue to a keeper, or one to toss back into circulation. But most the time, the devices will hang over the edge.

I don't consider the rim a device. I consider the letters, numbers devices. If there isn't a device to go by go by looks. If it looks off a lot your eye will catch it.

From what I saw, the reverses all looked normal.

Oh ok John, thank you. I just don't want to keep unnecessary stuff. I set aside a bunch of cents that looked odd but it seems most of them have no premium value.

I was able to commandeer my fiance's phone before work long enough to take a handful of pictures. Here is my most misaligned die coin:

Thanks Dustin. I don't have any 2x2's left to repackage them in. Maybe I'll get some tomorrow.
